My dad

Wow, look at him go he just saved the team! Hand fives all round we are the under deferred champions. When he was in the shower he made everyone laugh because my dad, he was telling muma jokes.  your mother is so tall that  whenever they see you they say  you are  mount everest.My dad is a good cook and he gets lots of money.

Every time I hear my dad screaming at me to clean up the mess. All the mess that the borders left for me to clean up.  When I annoy my dad he tells me to go to my room and stay there for 11mins.

Standing in the hot steam, pans sizzling in his face, hes getting angry and swears his head off.  Frustrated, he slams down the pots and  he smashes the pots together. Then he goes and has a smoke outside.

Everyday my dad spends his time at work doing his business.  Like bookings, selling tickets for the big girls for $70. He go and cleans up the restaurant then he get the recycling then he comes home.

Duck Shooting

Have you been inside a ditch waiting for ducks to come along?  My cold ice face lying in brown dirty mud.  Waiting for ducks to land on the ground on Saturday morning.  It was at waimarama to kill some  ducks.  I was about to fire at a parri when a goose came along and tried to bite me.

Finally I got my gun its my chance to get my first duck boom I got the duck right in the head. I had to go and get the duck.Well I got ready to fire so I took of the safety and shot.We shot the duck because we want their breasts.

So Paul  got the gun then shoot 7 ducks then we went and got the sack. To put the ducks so we put the ducks in one by one.We put the ducks into the bout.

The exciting  thing was me getting my first duck. Then next time we go I want to get 4 ducks and bet one duck.That was my best time ever.

Once upon a time there were two people named Jack and the Giant, who lived in their castles.  But something went wrong, the Giant  stole a golden egg from Jack. Jack got really mad so they started to fight. The giant stormed off with Jack’s golden egg.  Then the Giant came running back to Jack and came to say sorry for stealing your golden egg. Jack said it is ok.

But suddenly there were the three little evil pigs and they had flaming ears and evil red eyes. The giant and Jack got their  flaming sword and they battled the three evil pigs. They had a sharp stick each and they charged and then the giant just stepped  on the pigs and that was the end of their life.

Jack hopped on the giant’s back and entered the forest to look for some food  and saw a person who was  on a horse.  He was a knight with long hair and he was wearing shiny golden armour.  Jack said “can we follow you?” the knight said “ok you can, but you can't follow me all the way”. Jack said  “Ok.”

But then the big bad wolf came. Jack went on the giants back and the giant ran for their life. Then Jack yelled to the giant “go and kill the big bad wolf!”.  So the Giant sprinted towards the wolf  and squashed it.

Then they saw a house in the middle of the forest at a clearing. The sun was shining on the smoke coming out of the chimney. Jack knocked on the door and an old lady said “ What do you want?” “We just want something to eat for the road so we don't  starve.”  “ok, you can have some candy.”Thank You!” said the Giant.

Then they headed off.  Then the saw  donald the duck in this pond having his bath. Jack asked “are you having a nice bath there?” donald the duck said “yes i am”.  Then giant and Jack went to their castle and they lived happily ever after.

Dear  Bridgit,      

Thank you for coming on camp and helping us with  preparation for dinner and pudding.  Thank you for being kind and cheerful, it put me in to a good mood.  It was great that  you cheered us on in the paddling race.  It really help because it made us win.  

My favorite thing about camp was the rock climbing, it was hard to climb because you had to get your footing right.  I only got up to halfway on the rock wall.  I only got to have three turns of the rock walls.

I really like to thank you for helping cheeters on the amazing race and the human pyramid and kayaking.  Once again thankyou for coming on room 10s camp.

Earthquakes are made of two rocks earth plates  fighting and then they go over each other and then how powerful the rub is the strong the quake is. Then the ground shakes and the ground  might crack if the quake is stronger enough and it might cause a tsunami to happen. Power poles might fall down, trees can too  it will destroy houses too. It will take ages to re build all the house and re do the ground that is how earthquakes made.That is the end of how earthquakes are made.

Matariki

Matariki is a legend of the pleiades star system able to be seen at dawn making the maori new year.  Celebrating wisdom and skills with food that was gathered is how the Maori people recognise Matariki.  Our hub is learning new skills.  What is matariki?

I was in poi making for rotation.  You need to have yarn filling white plastic bags then you have to do a braiding a plait.  Then squashing the filling and cut away the plastic bag carefully from the braid.

Firstly, you get your favorite colors for your wool then you need to have to get some yarn   and one plastic bag.  Then you get same sizers then you cut carefully so you dont cart  the wool.

I am going to tell you what matariki is.Matariki is a maori legend and tells us to be safe and all of the histories been passed.Matariki is celebrated every year and is maori new year.

I chose this title because it sounded cool and fierce. This book sounded like the last herrick secret because of the  skeletons that are under the house. Who killed the people that are under the cellar?   

The people in the books names are Isaiah, Becs, Oscar, Mark they are in the haunted house. The blood stones and the graveyard shows that the house is haunted .

I positioned my title at the corner of my page because it looks like it is popping out at you that is why I put the title there. I used black and red colours to make it look spooky.

This is for people who like spooky stuff this will be right for them because of all the blood and the graveyard and the vins going up the wall and the blade giving of the worlds.

The person who killed the people was pop he shot his wife because she was cheating on him. So he shot her and the boyfriend and buried them under the cellar. The suitable age is 8 and over for reading this book that is sortebill for them.

Hockey skills

Hockey is an outside,  winter sport.  There are two goals on each side.  There is only one goalkeeper for each team and there are only 11 people on at once on the field.  They use a candy cane shaped stick and a hard ball.  They have to wear a mouthguard to protect their  teeth so if the ball hits their teeth, they won’t break or shatter.  You have to wear shoes to protect your feet and shin pads to protect your knees. Why is hockey a good sport?

There are two skills in hockey.  They are blocking and striking.  Blocking is when you stop the ball from going past you in the game.  You need to know where to ball is coming so you can block the ball.  Striking  is when you hit the ball to your player so he can hit it into the goal.

Firstly, you have to keep your eye on the ball so you know where you are hitting the ball.  If you don’t you could hit one of your players in the head or it could go right past you so you need to keep your eye on the ball.

Secondly,you have to put the stick straight on so if you don't the ball will go past the stick.   The opponents will get the ball and get a goal that is why you block .

Finally, I will tell you how to give a little. You  have to go behind the stick with your legs apart. If you dont give a little you will get a shock from the force of the ball hitting the stick.

Hockey is a good sport because you can go fast  and hit the ball hard.  You get to play with you team and friends.   It is an outside sport and you can get some fresh air while playing.

One night three people named Trevor,Franklin,Michael war a black  mask and they charged into the jewellery store . Franklin chucked a tear gas cannister and knocked all the people out. Then they went and stole some jewellery and Franklin knocked out the security  guard  and hopped on the dirt bike and went into the old subway tunnel. Michael was in a van and he  knocked out the cops with his van  and he goes to the drop off in the storm water drain .Trevor had made his way on his motorbike to the storm water drain.He  hops in the van and then they got away from the cops. When there were no cops behind them anymore they  finish  the mission.

Freshwater Eels

Freshwater Eels

There are 2 different types of Eels.   They are the shortfin  and longfin Eels.They were born in Pacific Ocean.  They have swum up our rivers and lakes in nz for millions of years.  When they get bigger and older, they go to breed in the sea.  

One Eel  breeds 1-20 millions of eggs. The longfin eel breeds when only  at their end of their life. When they breed they  travel  5000 kilometers away  from Nz.

Freshwater Eels are scavengers. It will eat up dead  creatures and clean up the rivers.They eat living fish and bugs and weeds and meat.

The longfin can grow up to 25 mm a year.  So  if you have caught a meter long eel that eel might be quite old. Probably older than you.  They can live up to a hundred years.

Sir Francis Drake was a famous explorer.  He sailed around the world and defeated the Spanish armada.

Francis Drake was born around  1540-1544 in England and he died  January 28 1596 . He travelled in a ship  around the world. He found his home living and working on ships.

The king of Spain, king Philip  invaded  France Germany and The Netherlands.In 1588 he wanted to invade England.  Spain had 120 ships full of Spanish and European soldiers (forced to fight by the Spanish). Their strategy was to shoot all the canons at the English ships then board them and fight on the decks.

Sir Francis Drake, who was now 44 and worked for Queen Elizabeth the     first, commandeered l80 slow ships. He also built 25 extra sleeker faster ships with different guns.These only had sailors on board,no fighters. Their strategy was to shoot lots of times below the waterline,they never got close enough to be boarded.They chased the Spanish and they battled around England and Scotland,Ireland and won the Spanish armada.

Sir Francis drake died age of 55 of infected diarrhoea he was buried at sea in a lead coffin of the cost of Puerto Bella, Panama.

Every Saturday i go to my game when I get to the places that we had to be.The whole team was

there we had to run to the end of the field then do press ups  then the other team got there then the game stated.We had the ball I pass the ball to my mate he kicked the ball straight past the keeper goal! he scored it is 1-0 to us then the had the ball I got the ball then I kicked it and got a goal it was full time I got the player of the day the we went home.

The kindness boomerang

One weekend  I found a gray zipped wallet at the Warehouse.  I was looking for the owner so I peeped inside the wallet.  I decided  to take it to the police station.   The owner got her wallet and she gave me $10 and she said,  “Thankyou for picking up my wallet and giving it to the police.   That is why I am giving you $10.”

“Thankyou,” I replied.

My last teacher mr Cottrell was very kind to me especially If I got stuck on my math he would help  me to do a math equation  so I could finish the maths on time. I was not the last person to finish the maths because he did that I was trying to behave and respect him.
